Bandera Behavioral Medicine
Bandera Behavioral Medicine is an integrative medicine clinic that considers daily functioning as a combination of health, emotional, chemical, and environmental conditions.
The clinic is the private practice of Dr. Greg Hupp, a licensed psychologist with specialized training in neuropsychological testing and treatment of the whole person.
Dr. Hupp prefers a drug-free approach to treatment and is specially trained in many "alternative" therapies. "Alternative" simply means that he prefers to use treatment methods that have been around a long time, in some cases, for centuries. Behavioral Medicine has it's roots in Eastern philosophies with a combination of Western technologies. The practice of behavioral medicine combines treatment methods from several different fields, such as immunology (allergy testing & sensitivies), biofeedback, physical medicine (core strengthening), cognitive-behavioral psychology, nutrition, and spirituality (regardless of religion).
Most significantly, Dr. Hupp has developed a special following and affinity for the assessment and treatment of developmental disorders, including Autism, Asperger's Disorder, and Pervasive Developmental Disorders. He also strives to treat dyslexia, ADHD, insomnia, depression, and anxiety. Combined with his other training, Dr. Hupp is perfectly suited to address the treatment issues faced by individuals with such complex conditions. He is able to care for these individuals through coordinated efforts with their families, physicians, and schools while addressing the core, underlying causes of these disorders.
Prior to moving to Bandera, Texas (in the heart of God's Country and the Texas Hill Country), Dr. Hupp had worked a general psychology practice with offices in Marble Falls, Harker Heights, and Copperas Cove. He had the proud distinction and honor of treating many of our Wounded Warriors of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. Much of his work involved the assessment of Traumatic Brain Injuries, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and with the families dealing with war-time separations.
Please review the rest of this site for more specific information on Dr. Hupp's approach to the assessment and treatment of these complex disorders and also for those who "just don't feel right" but really don't want to have to take "psych drugs" to feel better.
